The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Eng. Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dabaiba, approved the national strategy for government digital transformation, prepared by the Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation, during the activities of the first session of the Libyan Economic Forum, organized by the National Council for Economic and Social Development, on Monday under the slogan (Libya.. promising future).
In a speech on this occasion, the Chairman of the General Information Authority and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Government Digital Transformation, Eng. Abdul Basit Salem Al-Baour, stressed the importance of launching the National Strategy for Government Digital Transformation as a pivotal step in building a modern digital state. The Chairman of the Authority explained that the strategy includes many digital tracks, the most important of which are an integrated digital government, a competitive digital economy, an inclusive digital society and a safe digital environment. The Chairman of the Commission said that today, while we are proud of the launch of this strategy, we are not only launching it, but we are announcing the launch of its implementation, as some of the plans of this strategy have been implemented in a number of ministries and bodies within the Libyan state.
He added that the most important objectives of this strategy are to develop the legislative and legal environment to regulate digital transformation, enhance the digital capabilities of institutions and individuals, support innovation and entrepreneurship, ensure effective governance of data and services and achieve integration between government agencies and beneficiaries of these services. The Chairman of the Commission referred to the series of outstanding achievements that have been achieved in the national telecommunications sector, as well as in the fields of cybersecurity, human development, and the spread of digital services, indicating that these achievements, which were achieved yesterday and contributed to the classification of the State of Libya among the developed country, came thanks to the directives and guidance of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity. The TRA Chairman also referred to the policies and regulations of the telecommunications and information sector that have been issued during the last four years. The Chairman of the Authority explained that among the outputs of the National Strategy for Digital Transformation is what is known as the National Policy for Digital Accessibility, which is a policy that specializes in enabling people with disabilities to access digital services, where services will be provided to people with disabilities in accordance with international specifications and standards.
