Today, Thursday, the General Information Authority, in cooperation with Misurata University, organized a consultative workshop for academics and those interested in human development, under the slogan (National consultations to ensure human development for a sustainable future).
In a speech during the opening of the workshop, the Chairman of the Authority stressed the need to formulate new concepts in human development, and to develop a roadmap for a national human development plan that keeps pace with the changes witnessed by the world.
The Chairman of the Authority explained that the workshop comes within a series of national consultations through which the Authority seeks to involve all active institutions, in the context of the efforts exerted to prepare the seventh National Human Development Report 2025, indicating that the report is one of the important and necessary reports to assess the country’s progress in achieving human development goals.
The Chairman of the Commission expressed his pride in the participation of academics and those interested in development in these consultations to exchange experiences and knowledge and work together for a better future for the State of Libya.
For his part, the Vice President of Misurata University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim Dughman, stressed in his opening speech the importance of this workshop, which comes within the framework of the authority’s efforts to prepare the seventh national report for human development, pointing out that Misurata University’s hosting of this workshop indicates the strong relationship between the university and state institutions.
The scientific session of the workshop witnessed the presentation of six scientific papers that dealt with basic topics, most notably rethinking human development in today’s world by Engineer Abdul Basit Salem Al-Baour, the specifics and objectives of the National Human Development Report by Mr. Salem Abu Aisha Khalifa, a research associate in the sixth national report on human development, an analytical reading of the sixth national report for human development by Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Hamali, a research associate in the same report, and directing spatial development for population redistribution in Libya by Dr. Omar Muhammad Al-Makhzoum, a research associate and representative For the universities of Sabha and Brak Al-Shati, and the human capital of Dr. Younis Abu Shaiba and Professor Ali Al-Jeroushi are researchers Participants from Misurata University, and the impact of the high cost of living and poverty on human development in Libya by Dr. Abdullah Eshkab and Mr. Abdul Hamid Al-Fadil, associate researchers from Misurata University, and the importance of national consultations by Eng. Mounir Al-Adl, a research associate from the Authority.
The workshop concluded with an open dialogue that focused on the importance of national consultations and the role of academic institutions in preparing the report, to promote sustainable development and achieve human development aspirations in Libya.
Misurata University presented a shield to the Chairman of the Authority, and gifts to the participants in the workshop with scientific papers, for its part, the Authority presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to Misurata University, and certificates of thanks and appreciation to the participants in the workshop with scientific papers.
The workshop, which was organized at the Omar Al-Tomi Al-Shaibani Amphitheater at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Misurata University, was attended by the Chairman of the Authority, Eng. Abdul Basit Salem Al-Baour, and the Vice Deans of Misurata University, for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Dughman, the medical faculties Prof. Dr. Fathi Al-Amil, the faculties of humanities Prof. Dr. Mustafa Al-Shawish, and a group of experts and those interested in human development affairs, specialized academics and university professors.
