The Chairman of the General Information Authority, Eng. Abdul Basit Salem Al-Baour, stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the various authorities in the Libyan state, as well as making optimal use of national competencies and expertise, in order to develop an ambitious vision to build a prosperous future based on digital transformation and digital services.
This came in the context of the launch of the first workshops organized by the General Information Authority in cooperation with the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), within the framework of their joint project to develop, develop and activate the draft proposed national agenda for digital development for the State of Libya.
The first workshop was launched on Tuesday at the Authority’s headquarters as a consultative workshop, focusing on the consultative process with all national authorities concerned with the proposed agenda initiative, in order to listen to their opinions and take into account their proposals in drafting the proposed national agenda for digital development for the State of Libya in its final form.
The post-consultation workshops will include studying and evaluating the impact of opinions and proposals on developing and improving the proposed agenda.
The National Digital Development Document is a national initiative that aims to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development by making full use of information and communication technology and investing in the country’s capabilities.
The National Digital Development Document works to enhance the digital capabilities of public and private institutions and companies to achieve strong economic growth, build a promising future for the country bright and sustainable, promote innovation in all fields, provide ample opportunities for ambitious young people to develop their capabilities and acquire new skills in the field of digital information technology, contribute to the development of the information sector, support the process of digital transformation and advance economic development in the State of Libya.
