In implementation of the provisions of the decision of the Chairman of the General Information
Authority, Engineer Abdel Baset Salem Al-Baour, No. (121) of 2023, regarding the formation of
the Supreme Technical Committee for the National Information System, the Supreme Technical
Committee for the National Information System held its first periodic meeting, today,
Wednesday, at the headquarters of the General Information Authority, chaired by Mr. Engineer
Ayoub Al-Shuwaikh, Chairman of the Committee.
At the beginning of this meeting, Engineer Ayoub Al-Shuwaikh welcomed the committee
members, stating that the work of this committee falls within the national efforts aimed at
integrating the national information system to ensure the achievement of its goals, he explained
its work methodology and orientations within the framework of integration among its members,
emphasizing the importance of the information sector in community development.
The meeting discussed several items on its agenda, starting with how to establish the national
information directory, identifying sectors without sectoral information and documentation
centers, the importance of inviting information department managers in these sectors to attend
committee meetings, utilizing the resources and data available at the information and
documentation center at the General Authority for Communications and Informatics in the
committee’s work, as well as discussing scheduling the committee’s upcoming meetings and
determining strategic orientations and work priorities.
The meeting witnessed a visual presentation by Engineer Muneer Mohamed Al-Adl, Director of
the Planning and Projects Management at the General Information Authority, discussing the
experiences and activities of the authority and the work previously implemented in the project to
prepare the National Indicators Guide.
It is worth noting that the committee includes, in addition to its chairman, Mr. Ayoub Al-
Shuwaikh, the general directors of sectoral information and documentation centers, and
representatives from a number of national institutions concerned with the committee’s work.
