In celebration of the International Archives Day, which falls on the ninth of June of each year, the General Information Authority hosted, today, Sunday, a scientific symposium under the title (Documents. We are afraid of them and we are not afraid of them), it was organized by the Libyan Association for Libraries, Information and Archives, under the auspices of Engineer Abdel Basset Salem Al-Baour, head of the Authority, and with the wide participation of specialists and those interested in the field of documents and studies locally and internationally.
The symposium included scientific sessions in which many topics related to documents and archives were raised.
The most important recommendations mentioned in the symposium
-Work to establish a national center for archives at the national level.
-Work to activate the laws, regulations related to the preservation of archival documents and oblige public and private institutions to implement them as soon as possible.
-Paying attention to specializing in archives in the library and information departments of Libyan universities, in order to ensure qualified and qualified graduates who are able to work in this field.
