The President of the General Information Authority, Eng. Abdul Basit Salem Al-Baour, discussed during his meeting today, Monday, the delegation of the United Nations Development Program in Libya, ways of future cooperation between the two sides in the preparation of the seventh National Report for Human Development 2025, in the presence of a number of stakeholders of the authority.
In a speech during the meeting, Eng. Abdul Basit Salem Al-Baour explained that the Commission is open to further cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in preparing the seventh national report as an international house of expertise concerned with human development issues, and stressed that investing in the human element in the State of Libya represents an ambitious work agenda within the Authority’s plan in preparing this report, noting that the report will address many development issues, especially priority issues and in line with the directions of the State.
For his part, the Director of Planning and Projects Department at the Authority reviewed during a visual presentation the proposal to prepare the seventh National Human Development Report 2025 in light of the recommendations of the national consultations launched by the Authority during the past year on the preparation of the report, in which he explained the work methodology, organization mechanisms and regulatory framework.
In his presentation, he pointed out that within the organizational and administrative arrangements for the preparation of the report, it was proposed to form an advisory committee that includes experts, researchers, specialists and academics from a number of research centers affiliated with Libyan universities, and other guidance from specialists in the authority, in addition to an editorial board of professors and national experts, where the formation of the two committees and the editorial board took into account spatial and specialized diversity.
The seventh report would draw on a number of important methodological points based on international experience in preparing the Human Development Report. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to start the steps to prepare the seventh Human Development Report 2025 in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in Libya.
