The activities of the first hackathon of its kind to integrate government tax data, which extended over two days, concluded on Monday at the Corinthia Hotel in the capital, Tripoli.
The hackathon witnessed a wide participation of innovators and specialists, representing government institutions and universities from various Libyan cities.
The closing ceremony opened with official and welcoming speeches from the President of the General Information Authority, the representative of the General Information Authority at the Libyan Digital Innovation Lab, the Deputy Head of the Tax Authority, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Director of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Libya, and the Director of Programs at the France Experts Foundation, where the winning teams were announced, and the projects that provided technical development solutions were honored.
The event was organized by prestigious national and international institutions, including the General Information Authority, the Libyan Digital Innovation Lab, the France Experts Foundation, the Tax and Customs Authority, the General Authority for Commercial Registration, the Ministry of Finance, and the Central Bank of Libya, and the hackathon focused on developing innovative technical solutions to simplify tax operations through the integration of government databases with the aim of enhancing efficiency and transparency in providing services to citizens and companies.
