Today, Sunday, the Department of Statistics and Census reviewed the latest developments and developments related to the implementation of the seventh general population census and other accompanying censuses, this came during a meeting held by the Authority, Sunday morning, at its headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, which brought together the Minister of Planning, Mr. Muhammad Al-Zaidani, the Minister of Local Government, Mr. Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, the Minister of Social Affairs, Mrs. Wafaa Al-Kilani, the President of the General Information Authority, Eng. Abdul Basit Al-Baour, and the Head of the Statistics and Census Authority, Mr. Nabil Al-Qanga.
During this meeting, Mr. Nabil Al-Qanqa gave a presentation on the stages of work on the population census project within the framework of the preliminary phase related to the inventory of buildings, housing and establishments, in addition to what has been achieved in accordance with the time plan for the implementation of the census, indicating that this meeting is an important step to inform the ministries and all relevant authorities that support the authority in its plan to implement the stages of census work, on the latest developments in the project. It is worth noting that the decision of His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity No. 478 of 2022 AD regarding the conduct of the general census of population and other censuses accompanying it, stipulates that all ministries, municipalities, departments, authorities and all relevant authorities commit to implementing the census plan set by the Statistics and Census Authority and provide the necessary assistance to all those in charge of census operations.
