Interoperability
Interoperability, which is presented by the General Information Authority, is considered one of its main objectives in relation to providing and developing governmental services, within the framework of legal, organizational criteria. Through electronic channels, interoperability is done by connecting the government agencies’ electronic systems and programs to the National Database at the GIA, according to secure and effective access rights through the national network for data exchange, to enable these agencies to reach information saved on the National Database, and to make use of this service; thus providing a governmental service based on the best trusted and latest resources, and presenting comprehensive electronic government services to the citizens and residents, and complete their dealings without being tied to time and place

Legal basis of the interoperability process
Interoperability came as a translation of the two decisions of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord; No. (130) of 2018, in relation to the redistribution of the competencies of the national number project and the identification of some provisions related to it, and No. (1690) for year 2018, to establish the National Database Management in the GIA. These two decisions gave the General Information Authority the right to coordinate with all the other government institutions, to accelerate the projects of interoperability with the National Database in their various electronic applications, all according to specialization and goal of setting up a database, run by the GIA; and also to coordinate with all state institutions with the purpose of providing said institutions with the required data, for their electronic programs through linking them to the National Database, according to access rights and settings
